Hello,
I’m Carole and somewhat embarrassingly I’m find myself relaunching my blog after a hiatus which was supposed to be temporary, instead the absence has scanned more than a decade, (what was my blog even called?)
I’m so lucky; I have a head akin to an overdrive version of buzzfeed; rarely a day goes by when I don’t think to myself “wow, now there’s a great blog” However, sadly and a certainly stupidly, I’ve done well to even scribble musings onto the notes app on my phone.
Please tell me I’m not the only one that finds winter a kick starter for change instead of the more traditional New Year restyle?
Teeny, tiny days, darkest nights (but they are great for fairy lights, candles and hiding dust), wet and windy days (doesn’t make for happy, house friendly, well exercised puppies).
I find myself so busy with work in Spring, Summer and Autumn, then winter creeps in and BANG, short of polishing the light bulbs what is there that could be inspiring to do?
I can’t abide snow (it belongs on Christmas cards and atop far-flung mountains), loathe being late (me and others) feet on tables, unwashed hands, bad manners and mobile phones during dinner. There will be a ranty blog post on my dislikes eventually; it’s on the list.
I adore Christmas, my inordinately wonderful family (and the ability to keep them all alive, accounted for, fed and supplied with a never ending supply of Lenor fresh laundry), my three nutty puppies, being outside (garden, field, beach), garden/ing, travelling anywhere that requires a passport, handbags (I’m a Mulberry snob and also need to know what you keep in your bag and why), Emma Bridgewater, cooking (yet to kill anyone), and writing with my fountain pen.. Oh and sunshine.
